Jacques-Antoine Ormond
Co-founder, Partner and Head of Asset Management

Jacques-Antoine Ormond started his financial career in 1999 with Ferrier Lullin & Cie. After working for UBS Warburg and GAM in London, he returned to Ferrier Lullin in Geneva as a relationship manager. In 2004 he became a Certified International Investment Analyst (CIIA) and was appointed to the Executive Board.

In 2006, he left the bank to co-found 1875 FINANCE as a Partner, then as Senior Partner in 2011.

Paul Kohler
Co-founder, Partner, CEO (Chief Executive Officer)

Paul Kohler began his financial career in 1991 at ELF Trading (ex-Total) in Geneva as the Assistant to CFO and controller of crude oil and refined product trading. In 1993, he joined Paribas (Switzerland) SA in Geneva where he was responsible for managing private clients and was later appointed as a Member of Management in 1998.

In 2001, Paul joined Ferrier Lullin & Cie (member of the UBS Group) to lead the Swiss management group. He was appointed Managing Director in 2005 before Ferrier Lullin's sale to Julius Baer.

In 2006, he left the Julius Baer bank to found 1875 FINANCE SA along with Olivier Bizon, Aksel Azrac and the Ormond family, François-Michel Ormond and Jacques-Antoine Ormond.

Paul Kohler currently holds the role of 1875 FINANCE’s CEO.

Loïc Schmid
Chief Investment Officer

Loïc Schmid started his financial career in 2001 with Lombard Odier. In 2006, he joined Bank Bénédict Hentsch as a Senior Portfolio Manager. He will play an important role in the development of the young bank, including the creation of centralized discretionary management, conception and management of funds, proprietary treading and market strategist. Entrepreneur at heart, in 2012 he left the bank to co-found the Swiss finance media investir.ch which quickly became a reference site in Switzerland. He also cofounded the group of economists “Les Econoclastes”. In 2014, he was hired as Head of Portfolio Management at Sequoia Asset Management. In 2015, he was appointed CIO and a Head of Asset Management at GS BANQUE SA.

In August 2017, he left the Bank to join 1875 FINANCE as CIO.

Andrea Barenghi
Managing Director – Private Clients

Andrea Barenghi started his career in 1984 with De La Rue Giori, specializing in banknote creation and in the selling of production equipment to various Governments. In 1995, he joined Banque du Crédit Agricole Suisse SA, where he was in charge of bond market-making, forex and macro-economic analyst on the equity markets, interest and exchange rates.

In 1999, he joined newly-created Banque Syz, bringing with him his knowledge of client development and dedicated portfolio management for wealthy families and for Family Offices.

He left Banque Syz in 2015 to join 1875 FINANCE.

Jørn Tilsted Christensen
Director – Private Clients

Jørn Tilsted began his career in 1987 with a regional bank in Denmark. Moving to Luxembourg in 1996 joining a Danish banks located in Luxembourg. Becoming a Certified International Investment Analyst ( CIIA ) in 2004.

Managing and developing a portfolio of Danish and Nordic clients for more than 20 Years in various banks, ( Dexia BIL, Nordea and final UBS ) joined the 1875 FINANCE in 2019.

Jonathan Wynne
Director – Corporate Finance & Private Equity

Trained at the EPFL, Jonathan Wynne started out at Procter & Gamble and Bain & Company. He then joined the world of Private Equity, before becoming head of M&A of North Anglia Education for Europe, the Middle East and the Americas. It was there that he implemented the Buy and Build strategy, which led the Group to over tenfold growth in 7 years.

In 2018, he joined 1875 FINANCE to set up the Private Investments Department.

Roland Ruttimann
Head of Portfolio Management

Roland Ruttimann started his career in 1998 with Cantrade Ormond Burrus Banque Privée SA, first in the trading department then in third-party funds selection in Zurich. In 2002, he became a portfolio manager with Ferrier Lullin in Geneva. He obtained his Federal diploma as a financial analyst in 2001 and became an IAF-certified Fund Advisor the same year. In 2003 he obtained his Federal diploma as an expert in finance and investments (AZEK). He was then in charge of special clients and HNWIs on the Swiss market for the management group.

In 2006 he left the bank to set up portfolio management for 1875 FINANCE.

David Cohen
Portfolio Manager, in charge of investment fund selection and follow-up

David Cohen started his career in 2001 with Ferrier Lullin & Cie SA as co-head of securities administration and then moved to transaction controlling. In 2004 he joined the middle office team for investment funds before leaving the bank in 2006 to join 1875 FINANCE.

Lionel Ducommun
Portfolio Manager

Lionel Ducommun started his career in 2006 with Ferrier Lullin & Cie SA as a Portfolio Advisor for in-house managers. He joined 1875 FINANCE’s Asset Management department in 2007 and became a Certified International Investment Analyst (CIIA) in 2011.

Sally Wortelboer
Senior Investment Advisor

Sally Wortelboer started her career in 1983 as a trader in financial futures, options, precious metals and commodities for brokerage houses including REFCO and Rudolf Wolff. In 1989, she joined UNCTAD as a commodity advisor and worked in Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. She worked with MKS Finance between 1990 and 1998 in spot trading on precious metals and currencies, also running the EFP book (exchange for physical). Between 1998 and 2001 she was as a Vice-President within the Manager Selection Service at Pictet & Cie, specialising on hedge fund due diligence and portfolio allocation for the fund of funds as well as advising clients. From 2007 to 2015, Sally worked as an independent representative and investment advisor on various mandates for trading companies and banks.

In June 2015, she joined 1875 FINANCE as a Senior Investment Advisor.

Louis Soots
Investment Advisor

After graduating from his Master in Financial Engineering and Risk Management at HEC Lausanne, Louis Soots started his financial career as intern in hedge funds selection with Sequoia Asset Management. He then evolved within the company as cross asset investment advisor. Louis also worked as Investment Advisor with Bedrock Group in Geneva.

In May 2018, he joined the Asset Management division for private client at 1875 FINANCE as Investment Advisor.

Jean-Alexandre Mery
CFA, Portfolio Manager

Before graduating in 2010 from his Master’s in Finance at Audencia Nantes School of Management, Jean-Alexandre Mery undertook a year-long internship in Risk Management with Commerzbank in Frankfurt. During the final year of his studies, he contributed to the development of a start-up specialized in crowdfunding and based at the Parc Scientifique in Lausanne.

After graduating, he started with J.P. Morgan (Private Bank) in Geneva as a middle office analyst, subsequently joining the Asset Management division for private clients at 1875 FINANCE four years later. Jean-Alexandre is also a CFA charterholder.

Rafael da Silva
Portfolio Manager

Norman Sachs
Fund Manager/Quantitative Analyst

Norman Sachs began his studies in 2013 by a Bachelor in Finance & Economics at HEC Lausanne. After graduation, he undertook a year-long internship in financial institutions between Paris and Brisbane. Back in Switzerland to pursue his education, he completed the Master in Financial Engineering at HEC Lausanne.

He joined 1875 FINANCE as a Fund Manager and Quantitative Analyst.
